(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 25 – Instagram introduces a measure for those under 16 who sign up to the platform: it sets the ‘Less’ mode by default, which limits the viewing of sensitive content. “It will therefore be more difficult for young people to come across unpleasant content during their experience,” explains the company owned by the Meta group.
Instagram also says it is also testing new ways to encourage teens to update their account privacy and security settings, which will soon be active in Italy as well. “We will show notifications to under 18s – he underlines – to invite them to review and manage who can see their content, decide who they can be contacted by, set the control of sensitive content and manage the time spent in the app”.
On Instagram, in the Settings section, it is already possible to manage the content that each user may find inappropriate through the Sensitive Content Control tool.
“Such content does not violate the Instagram Community Guidelines, but relates to topics that some people may find unpleasant,” the platform points out. (HANDLE).
