Might Magic X Legacy returns on Steam

After a few months during which it was no longer possible to buy Might & Magic X – Legacy on Steam, Ubisoft has just announced the return of its title to business.

It all started with the announcement in May by Ubisoft that eight titles from the publisher would lose their functionality online. Might & Magic X – Legacy was on the list.

And if Ubisoft had promised that the single player experience of these games would remain accessible, on June 1, the date of deactivation, players had started to realize that they had been cheated. Indeed, Might & Magic X – Legacy Not only was no longer practicable online, but full access to the solo adventure was also barred. At issue: these famous DRMs requiring internet access to authenticate the copy.

As we reported, Ubisoft chose to disable the ability to buy the game on Steam, when we could tell ourselves that it was easier to get rid of DRM. The publisher here visibly wanted to put an end to the discontent of users on a game continuing to be sold while it offered almost no content. A subsequent return to sale of Might & Magic X- Legacy did not seem excluded, however.

On October 20, Ubisoft announced what we could hope for:

“On June 1, we made the decision to remove Might & Magic X – Legacy from sale due to an unexpected issue that arose after we shut down various services for security reasons, which prevented players from accessing parts of the game and its DLC. Our teams have spent the last few months investigating and testing the various solutions to ensure that the player experience meets our standards in terms of quality of service.

Today, we are happy to announce that all the conditions are in place for the game to return to the Ubisoft Store and Steam, and new and old players can once again venture into the vast and mysterious world of ‘Ashan. In addition to the base game, we also took this opportunity to give all Might & Magic X – Legacy fans the freedom to extend their adventure by accessing the ‘The Falcon and the Unicorn’ DLC, completely free. ”

Please note, however, that on Steam, only the Digital Deluxe edition is available for purchase at a price of 29.99 euros. And the “The Falcon and the Unicorn” DLC is part of the content included in the Deluxe Edition. Perhaps Ubisoft’s gesture mentioned at the end of the press release is aimed at players who owned the game before its recent commercial reappearance.
