Italy and Canada join forces to cooperate in the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes: this is certified by the memorandum of understanding signed by the president of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Giorgio Saccoccia, and by the president of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), Lisa Campbell, during a bilateral meeting at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Dubai.
The purpose of the agreement, explains ASI in a note, “is to provide a reference framework for bilateral cooperation activities, with the aim of facilitating the exchange of information and the promotion of joint activities and initiatives in the sectors research and development, academia, industry and the space sector “.
The main areas of interest for cooperation between the two countries will concern activities in the field of space sciences and technologies, Earth observation, the development of space exploration systems for joint missions, and training.
