Fair Foundation, 12 million to companies investing in AI

Around 12 million euros to finance the projects of Italian companies on artificial intelligence: the national ‘cascade’ calls for large companies, SMEs and startups were presented today in Florence by the Fair Foundation, which manages the Partnership Extended to universities, centers of research and business financed by the Pnrr for 115 million euros on the topic of AI. The calls (managed by the 10 ‘spokes’ of the project, coordinated by the main Italian universities and research bodies dealing with AI) will be published starting from the end of March, throughout the month of April.

“It is a concrete step to encourage new models of partnership between the world of research and the entrepreneurial world, and to start collaborations to develop the potential for innovation”, says Maria Chiara Carrozza, president of the Cnr. “We must build great projects together – states Giuseppe Di Pietro, president of the Fair Foundation -, attracting new funds and all together expanding the radius of influence of our country in this sector. The cascading calls are the first step towards opening up this collaboration, which Fair is committed to carrying forward even beyond the confines of the Pnrr project”.

The long-term objective is to bring together the Italian artificial intelligence ecosystem, combining companies that develop technologies on this topic with the 27 entities that make up the Fair Extended Partnership, made up of 14 universities, 4 research bodies, 7 large companies and another 100 companies and public administrations who gave their approval to the project.
