We are not the only intelligent civilization in the galaxy, but aliens are much more advanced than us, they say.

Scientists suggest that other civilizations, too, could have spread along the Milky Way, given thousands of exoplanets, and even sent messages that can be recorded.

Aliens, according to researchers, have already formed a network of hundreds of thousands of automatic probes in the galaxy, and use the stars as gravitational lenses to transmit signals.

The hypothetical machines that form the galactic communications network have been named Focal Interstellar Communication Devices (FICD).

The article also points out that Wolf 359, one of the closest to the Sun, would be an ideal candidate for a lens star.

The line of signals that could be sent by a hypothetical machine, the Earth crosses once a year. Thus, earthlings can intercept the signal sent through the Wolf 359 towards the Sun.

Scientists have even requested access to information about such a signal in the optical range and a possible probe of aliens in the solar system.

So far, no signal or signs of FICD have been found, but researchers are not giving up.

They think they should try looking in the direction of other stars and at other wavelengths.
