Persona 4 Arena Ultimax returns to PS4, Switch and PC in March 2022

Persona is back … In a completely unexpected way: the fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax from 2014 will be ported to current consoles starting next March. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the JRPG franchise, Atlus thus decides to once again publish one of the most popular versus fighting in the community, long remained a prisoner of its older generation platforms.

Make fists speak

Released in Japanese arcades in 2013 before being ported the following year to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax takes place directly after the events of Persona 4 Arena, just a few months after the original game ended Person 4. The team of amateur investigators is once again confronted with the threat of the Shadows — this time coming to infiltrate a big brawl tournament… Which seems quite logical given the nature of the title.

Flourishing all over fanservice, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is thus the second variation in fighting game for the franchise of Altus. All the characters from Persona 4 Arena make their return for this sequel: the protagonist Yu Narukami and his band of friends Yosuke Hanamura, Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi, Kanji Tatsumi, Naoto Shirogane, Rise Kujikawa and the mascot Teddie, but also other characters like Akihiko Sanada, Mitsuru Kirijo and Elizabeth. Other well-known faces, this time from Persona 3, also appear as guest stars. Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori or even Margaret Yoshitsune are part of the cast of playable fighters.

See you next March

We find the Arc System Works studio in the realization of this spin-off of a different kind. The Japanese studio is once again talking about its talent for pixel-art, with an absolutely sumptuous artistic direction… Something to delight lovers of the beautiful game. Note that this version will immediately contain the story mode of Persona 4 Arena, as well as the ability to play with the original Japanese dub.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is expected on March 17 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo and PC via Steam. The game is already available for pre-order on the Valve store for € 29.99.
