The program, in addition to wanting to attract and retain the best researchers, will offer a support aimed at people affected by wars and displaces. As part of these efforts, the Commission is updating the part of the work program of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie (Msca) 2023-25 ​​actions to offer greater support for Ukrainian scientists and to launch the pilot project “Choose Europe for science”, which will guarantee new opportunities for researchers at the beginning of the career, including competitive and longer contracts.

On the front of the support for talents and the fight against brain leaks, the pilot program “Choose Europe” will invest 22.5 million euros, offering support and opportunities to researchers at the beginning of the career, co-financing post-doc bags and opening the possibility of research, teaching or management. The Community executive also announces that the European Research Council has doubled the integration to the scholarship for researchers who move to Europe and will launch a new seven -year Super Grant.

In 2025 the program will finance avant -garde science, digital and spatial technologies, green projects, safety and contrast to organized crime and terrorism. Among the key aspects of Horizon Europe 2025 there is the realization of the EU priorities, among other things with 664 million invested in the five missions of the Union (climate change, fight against cancer, restoration of oceans and waters, smart cities, land pact). Then there is the desire to accelerate the climatic and digital objectives: 1.14 billion euros are dedicated to projects on climate, energy and transport and 833 million euros for feeding, bioeconomics, natural resources, agriculture and environment. 1.6 billion euros are allocated to the development of artificial intelligence. The 2025 work program also aims to support the transformation of European automotive industry through research and innovation.

The New European Bauhaus is also included in the project and active from 2025 to 2027, to revitalize European neighborhoods. Also in this case, the announcement will open tomorrow, with a dedicated budget of 118.4 million euros (always from the Horizon Europe program). Half (63 million) will finance demonstration projects that illustrate how to apply the New European Bauhaus to the local environment, for example with regenerative design. The other half will focus on fundamental research and other support actions.
