Covid: India towards normality, the contagion curve drops again

(ANSA) – NEW DELHI, 11 FEB – India looks with optimism at the return to normal after yesterday, according to data released by the Ministry of Health, the country recorded a number of Coronavirus cases lower than those of the previous day: 58,077 with 657 deaths, and a daily positivity rate of 3.89 percent. The day before, the new positives had been 67,084, and the positivity rate was 4.44 percent.

The curve of new infections is descending and always below one hundred thousand new positives since February 6. As of February 1, there were 167,059 new cases and the positivity rate was 11.6 percent.

Many States and Territorial Unions are loosening the restrictions re-imposed with the arrival of the Omicron variant, and are allowing the reopening of schools, gyms, cinemas and theaters and the return of employees in presence in the offices.

Delhi will reopen all schools, closed in March 2020, from next Monday.

In the meantime, the vaccination campaign continues in the country, which to date has reached a total of one billion 717 million doses administered. (HANDLE).
