Iran negotiator, parties never so close to nuclear agreement

The countries that are negotiating the Iranian nuclear program in Vienna are “closer than ever to an agreement,” the Iranian negotiator wrote on Twitter.
“After weeks of intense talks, we are closer than ever to an agreement; however, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed,” Ali Baghéri wrote in English, saying that at this point it is up to the “negotiating partners” of the Iran take “serious decisions”.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, during a ceremony in Tehran implicitly criticized those who believe that Tehran tries to develop a nuclear program to build atomic weapons: “They know that the Iranian nuclear program is peaceful, but they raise absurd senseless accusations. according to which Iran is about to make the bomb, “Khamenei said, according to reports from the Irna news agency.
“We aim for a peaceful use of nuclear energy” said Ayatollah, also mentioning the ongoing negotiations in Vienna to relaunch the nuclear deal reached in 2015 (Jcpoa). “Between 2015 and 2016 I expressed criticisms on some points of the JCPOA in such a way that no problems would arise in the future, some of my criticisms were not taken into consideration and then the problems that everyone can see today emerged,” said Khamenei . Negotiations have been underway in the Austrian capital since November 29 between Iran, Russia, China, France, Great Britain and Germany to relaunch the 2015 nuclear pact. Tehran has repeatedly called for the removal of the sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran when Washington abandoned the agreement in 2018 by decision of former president Donald Trump. More than two months after the reopening of the Vienna table, there have not yet been direct talks between the US and Iran, but only an exchange of messages through EU mediation.
