(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 24 – Fights between Russian and Ukrainian forces are also underway in the disarmed Chernobyl nuclear power plant: this was reported by an advisor to the Kiev Interior Ministry quoted by Nbc. The Ukrainian Interior Ministry confirmed the fighting in Chernobyl, and specified that the waste storage facilities are currently intact, although at risk of being destroyed.
“Fights are underway near the Chernobyl nuclear waste deposit. Russian forces have advanced from Belarus,” said Interior Ministry adviser Anton Guerachtchenko. The Ukrainian National Guard “is putting up strong resistance,” he added. (HANDLE).
