(ANSA) – LONDON, MARCH 25 – Boris Johnson today had “a frank and frank discussion” with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by a spokesman for Downing Street, after the first information bounced by Beijing on the interview, using adjectives that in diplomacy highlight an apparent lack of agreement on the request made by the British premier and by the leaders of the West in general to exert pressure on Vladimir Putin to a halt to hostilities by Moscow forces.
The conversation lasted “about an hour” and, according to London, also covered “a spectrum of issues of common interest”.
