(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 27 – The Ukrainian armed forces have launched counter-offensive operations in the oblasts of Sumy, Kharkiv, Kiev and Kherson. This was announced by Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, quoted by Ukrinform.
“Our troops launched small but counter-offensive tactical operations in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts and continued them in Kyiv and Kherson oblasts. That is, we are undertaking a small counter-offensive,” Arestovych explained and warned against any ill-treatment in the against prisoners of war.
“Since we have counterattacked in some areas, there will be many prisoners. I would like to remind all our military, civil and defense forces once again that abuse of prisoners is a war crime that does not qualify for amnesty. under international law and there is no statute of limitations. We are the European army of a European country. We treat prisoners in accordance with the Geneva Convention, no matter what the emotional personal reasons are. ” (HANDLE).
