Jerusalem: Israel police in force for prayers Esplanade

(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, APRIL 01 – Israeli forces are on maximum alert for Friday prayers on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem that precede the holy month of Ramadan, starting tomorrow evening.

The alert follows the series of Palestinian attacks in Israel which in a week resulted in 11 deaths and the killing of the attackers. The city police have increased their deployment by hundreds of officers.

The army has deployed 12 more battalions of soldiers along the borders with the West Bank where demonstrations are expected. The defense minister also recalled 300 border police reservists. (HANDLE).
