(ANSA) – RIO DE JANEIRO, APR 04 – The well-known Brazilian singer, Caetano Veloso, will sue the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro: according to information from the editorialist of the Metropoles website, Guilherme Amado, the reason is linked to improper use of his voice in an internet publication by Bolsonaro made this weekend to promote his government’s investments in the civil protection sector.
On Instagram, the artist – who does not hide his opposition to the right-wing leader – appeared as if he were promoting government actions with the song ‘Andar com fé’ (Going with faith), by Gilberto Gil, in the version recorded by Gil and Caetano.
According to the lawyer representing Caetano, Caio Mariano, “politicians of any party must understand that the Internet is no man’s land and that they cannot use copyrighted music without the permission of the rights holders”.
