(ANSA) – PARIS, APRIL 10 – “You can count on me to implement our program of opening” and “French and European independence”: said Emmanuel Macron, addressing the militants at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, after the results of the first round of presidential elections which sees him in the ballot on April 24 against the candidate of the Rassemblement National, Marine Le Pen. “Nothing has been acquired, the debate that we will have in the next fifteen days is decisive for France and for Europe”, warned Macron, inviting his compatriots to block the way to the far right “by Marine Le Pen in view of the vote for the Elysée.
The outgoing president then urged his supporters to create, “beyond differences”, “a great political movement of unity and action”.
Before the political proposal, Macron thanked all the candidates eliminated in the first round one by one, in alphabetical order. Then he repeated, with a new thanks, the names of those they invited to vote for him in the ballot.
