India: Uber increases travel costs by 12%, 15% in Delhi and Mumbai

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 12 – Uber, the hugely popular car ride platform in India announces that the cost of rides with its drivers will rise by 12% in Delhi due to the increase in fuel. Nitish Bushan, head of Uber for India and South Asia, made it known in a statement. Last week the company had already increased prices in Mumbai by 15%.

Two days ago the Indian capital saw a participatory protest from drivers associated with Uber and the competing platform Ola, taxi drivers and tour operator drivers, who asked the government to intervene on fuel prices, threatening an all-out strike. (HANDLE).
