(ANSA) – LONDON, MAY 06 – Partygate also in the Labor house, after the fine imposed by Scotland Yard last month on the conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson for the gatherings organized in Downing Street between 2020 and 2021 in violation of the Covid restrictions then in force in the United Kingdom. Durham County Police announced today the opening of a formal investigation into Labor leader Keir Starmer, accused of having himself violated the rules in a pre-election meeting concluded in April of 2021 with an evening collective drinking of beer in the area.
The announcement came with closed polls, after yesterday’s local vote which saw Starmer’s party advance in London on the conservatives; but to retreat in terms of overall votes across England compared to the result achieved in the 2018 administrative elections under Jeremy Corbyn, albeit disputed, radical left leadership.
