(ANSA) – KIEV, 07 MAY – “Italy has a duty to believe in a diplomatic solution” in Ukraine. “At the moment we are still in the midst of the conflict, but windows of opportunity could open up and we absolutely must seize them by giving our contribution to try to restart this negotiation process to first reach a ceasefire and then possibly a peace agreement”, as repeatedly highlighted by Minister Di Maio. This was stated by the ambassador to Kiev, Pier Francesco Zazo, in an interview with ANSA. “Italy is one of the countries that has given its willingness to act as guarantor should an agreement be reached”, he added.
