(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, MAY 13 – The mass funeral of Shireen Abu Akleh, the al-Jazeera reporter who was killed Wednesday in Jenin (West Bank) in a fire conflict between Palestinian militiamen and a unit, ended in Jerusalem Israeli military. At the end of the religious service in the Greek-Melkite church at the Old City gate of Jaffa, the coffin was followed by a crowd of thousands to the nearby cemetery of Mount Zion, while the nearby churches rang their bells.
In the course of a live broadcast, the al-Jazeera broadcaster repeatedly criticized the behavior in its opinion “aggressive” maintained by the Israeli police in this circumstance, and in particular when police officers charged a group of people who intended to carry the coffin on their backs. The funeral then concluded without further incident.
