(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 17 – A sandstorm hit Abu Dhabi this afternoon, reducing visibility to a few hundred meters in some areas.
The National Meteorological Center said northwest winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour were blowing dust and sand and are expected to continue into the next few hours.
In the images of the videos shared on Twitter you can see the skyline of the island of Reem completely covered with dust.
Police have warned drivers to pay full attention to driving. The sandstorm also hit Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Qatar where visibility had dropped to 1,000 meters at Doha’s Hamad International Airport. (HANDLE).
