The Kremlin accused Boris Bondarev, adviser to the Russian mission to the UN in Geneva, who resigned with a scandal, of treason. Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, commented on the loud resignation of Bondarev.
“Mr. Bondarev is no longer with us, rather, he is against us … He condemns the actions of the Russian leadership, and the actions of the Russian leadership are supported by almost the entire population of our country. This means that this gentleman opposed the general consolidated opinion of our country,” Peskov said.

Boris Bondarev, adviser to the Russian mission to the UN in Geneva, condemned the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. According to him, over the 20 years of his work, he had to observe various turns of Russian foreign policy. But he has never been as ashamed of his country and work as he was on February 24 this year.
“The aggressive war unleashed by Putin with Ukraine, and in fact with the entire Western world, is not only a crime against the Ukrainian people, but also, perhaps, the most serious crime against the people of Russia, who with a bold letter Z crossed out all hopes for the gradual development of a successful democratic society,” Bondarev said.
The diplomat noted that the initiators of the war want to stay in power forever, live in palaces, sail on luxury yachts, enjoying unlimited power and complete impunity, and for this, the Putin regime is ready to sacrifice many lives.
In addition, Bondarev criticized the work of the Russian Foreign Ministry, saying that his level of lies and unprofessionalism of the department was constantly growing, and in recent years this has become catastrophic.
