(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 05 – The number of deaths in the explosion that took place this morning in Bangladesh in a private container depot near the largest port in the country, Chittagong (southeast), has risen to 40 following a fire . This was reported by the BBC online which speaks of hundreds of injured.
According to an initial reconstruction provided by the authorities, hundreds of people had arrived on the spot to put out the flames, when suddenly a number of containers exploded at the Sitakunda site. Chemicals were stored in the containers. Authorities report that the death toll could rise as many injured were hospitalized in serious condition. (HANDLE).
