Russia left the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“In accordance with Article 36 of the Federal Law “On International Treaties of the Russian Federation” to accept the proposal of the Russian Foreign Ministry, agreed with the federal executive authorities concerned, on the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the World Tourism Organization,” the text of the order says.
A number of developed countries, in which tourism is also developed (USA, Great Britain, Belgium, New Zealand, Nordic countries, etc.), are not members of the World Tourism Organization.
In April, the UN World Tourism Organization announced that the aggressor country would leave the organization before the end of this year, but Russia, without waiting for the results of the vote, itself announced its intention to leave the organization.
