(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, 12 JUN – The current situation with Israel “can no longer be tolerated” and there is a lack of both “a political horizon” and “international protection of the Palestinian people”. This was stated, quoted by Wafa, by President Abu Mazen while meeting in Ramallah the US Deputy Foreign Minister Barbara Leaf to whom she denounced “Israel’s failure to fulfill its obligations and the resolutions of international legitimacy”. “Our goal – underlined Abu Mazen to Leaf who is preparing Joe Biden’s visit to the region – is to put an end to the occupation on the basis of international resolutions. East Jerusalem is and will always remain the capital of the State of Palestine”. Abu Mazen then denounced what he called “mass raids by radical Israeli extremists on al-Aqsa Mosque”. The Palestinian president also called for the PLO to be removed from the list of terrorist organizations and the reopening of the US Consulate in East Jerusalem. (HANDLE).
