(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 19 – “Hey Ukrainians, I’m Mike Tyson and I’m on your side”: this is how the former boxing champion expressed his support for Ukraine at war with Russia in a short video relaunched on Twitter from the Ukrainian boxing federation.
It is not the first time that the former world heavyweight champion has been involved in the Ukrainian crisis: a few days ago the controversial American radio host Alex Jones, supporter of numerous conspiracy theories, proposed him to mediate between Moscow and Kiev. An eventuality that ‘Iron Mike’ had rejected, stating that “you have to look at the different levels of things, think ahead” before doing something.
Jones reminded Tyson when former basketball player Dennis Rodman went to meet North Korean leader Kim-Jon Un in Pyongyang, a meeting Jones said had eased tensions between North Korea and Washington. (HANDLE).
