Iran, ‘ready for talks, we hope the US will be realistic and fair’

(ANSA) – TEHRAN, June 25 – “We are ready to resume the Vienna talks to revive the nuclear agreement and remove US sanctions in the coming days”. This was confirmed by the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, in a press conference with Josep Borrell, underlining his appreciation of the diplomatic efforts and frank negotiations that would bring results, including the economic benefits of the nuclear deal. “Iran is trying to remove the obstacles on the way to the new talks and hopes that the US too will have a realistic and fair view of them and will be responsible for finalizing the agreement”, he added.

Borrell had announced in a tweet that “my visit to Tehran has one main objective: to give new impetus to the negotiations and get the JCPOA nuclear agreement back on track.

It has been three months since I put the Vienna talks on hold. We need to stop the current escalation dynamic and accelerate our work. We have to close the deal now. “
