US residents are in favor of helping Ukraine, even if it comes at the cost of rising inflation, high energy prices, or even the lives of the US military. The number of such people in June increased compared to May, although it is less than the peak value recorded in March.

This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey published by specialists from the Brookings Institution (USA).

According to the survey, for the sake of helping Ukraine, 62% of respondents are ready to pay more for gasoline, 58% agree to rising inflation. About a third of Americans believe that even the death of US military personnel is acceptable to help Ukraine.

The idea of introducing a no-fly zone over Ukraine in the event of a protracted war is supported by 65% of survey participants.

At the same time, among supporters of the US Democratic Party, the level of support for Ukraine is expectedly higher than among Republicans.

While the majority of respondents say that neither Russia nor Ukraine succeeds or fails in their military efforts (37% and 40% respectively), they believe that Ukraine succeeds more than it fails (27% to 20%) , while Russia has more failures than successes (29% to 20%).

The researchers note that the poll results are good news for the Biden administration, which has prioritized support for Ukraine.

US will increase aid to Ukraine

US President Joe Biden announced a new $800 million assistance package to Ukraine, which, in particular, will include HIMARS installations and ammunition for them.

HIMARS is an American high-mobility rocket artillery system developed in the late 90s, which is mounted on a wheeled chassis.

Earlier, the site “Today” told why these MLRS are important.
