(ANSA) – ISLAMABAD, 07 JUL – At least 20 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours in Pakistan in incidents related to monsoon rains, bringing the total death toll to 97 from 14 June to today. This was announced by the National Disaster Management Authority (Ndma), stating that the number of injured has risen to 101.
Southwestern Balochistan is the most affected province, where 49 people died and as many were injured. Heavy downpours and rain-induced floods destroyed 226 homes while another 481 were partially damaged.
The number of cattle killed during this period was 1,326. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall in the next 24 hours. (HANDLE).
