(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 24 – Russia appreciates the balanced position of the member states of the Arab League on the situation in Ukraine. This was stated today by Russian Foreign Minister Serghei Lavrov in a meeting with the envoys of the member states in Cairo, as reported by Tass.
“We appreciate the balanced, fair and responsible position of the members of the Arab League,” he said, recalling that an Arab League contact group visited Moscow in April to discuss this issue.
“We are open to continuing the dialogue with our friends in the Arab League and in other parts of the world. We have nothing to hide,” Lavrov stressed.
According to the Russian senior diplomat, Moscow is interested in promoting partnership and economic cooperation with the Arab League and joint efforts on regional issues, such as the situation over Palestine. (HANDLE).
