(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, 04 AUG – The Israeli army has decided to reinforce the deployment of its troops around the Gaza Strip after the recent threats from Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The ‘Gaza’ division will be reinforced with artillery, infantry, armored troops and special forces. Premier Yair Lapid today held an assessment meeting with security officers at the army headquarters in Tel Aviv. Also in relation to the possible closure of roads near the Palestinian enclave in relation to the threats of the Jihad, after the arrest of the head of the organization in the West Bank. “We will not accept a situation where terrorist groups can disrupt the daily lives of residents of the Israeli” area around the Strip, “Lapid said.
