Gb: stuntman in the cell who impersonated queen with a parachute

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 16 – A British stuntman, who became famous at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics when he parachuted over the stadium ironically dressed as an unlikely Queen Elizabeth with lots of knickers, was sentenced to 18 months prison sentence for domestic violence for throwing his wife down the stairs of the house. Gary Connery, 53, a skydiver and stuntman, injured his wife Tanya in 2020, in Henley-on-Thames, County Oxford.

The judge in passing the sentence said that Connery has shown “no sign of repentance” nor does he believe he has committed any evil. The act of violence, it emerged, occurred at the height of a discussion about who should turn off the light, after both spouses had drunk plenty of alcohol.
