The independent committee of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), recommended the use of vaccine gives Pfizer against a Covid-19 for the immunization of children aged between 5 and 11 years. The decision was released after weeks of analysis, but is not definitive, as it is still up to the regulatory agency to approve the position and will need the positive approval of the Council of the Center for Disease Control for the immunizations to be released. Last week, pharmaceutical company Pfizer submitted to the FDA a study that demonstrates the effectiveness of 90% of the vaccine for the population aged 5 to 11 years. The research had the participation of more than 2,200 children in the age group, with 1,500 receiving the immunizing agent (with only ⅓ of the dose given to adults) and just over 700 the placebo at intervals of three weeks. In all, only three immunized children and 16 who received the placebo had the disease. Now, if the vaccination of children is approved by the competent bodies, at least 28 million people in this age group should receive the immunizing agent in the USA.
