Epstein: Prince Andrew at the US court, dismiss Giuffre accusations

(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 30 – Prince Andrew has asked a New York court to dismiss the legal action brought against him by Virginia Giuffre, one of the accusers of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, a sex offender, who died in prison in 2019 The BBC reports.

The Duke of York’s attorneys said it was an “unfounded lawsuit” which should be dismissed because Ms. Giuffre failed to sufficiently outline the charges against him.

Ms. Giuffre, 38, accused Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 and a minor under US law.

The queen’s 61-year-old son has consistently denied Giuffre’s claims that she was assaulted by the prince at the London home of Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and at Epstein’s homes in Manhattan and Little Saint James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the document filed on Friday, Prince Andrew’s lawyers argue that his “tarnished reputation is only the latest collateral damage in the Epstein scandal … Epstein’s abuse of Giuffre does not justify his public campaign against Prince Andrew” . (HANDLE).
