In the city of Balasore in India on Friday, June 2, there was a large-scale accident – three trains collided at once. According to preliminary data, the death toll exceeded 120 people. More than 600 people were injured.

Local authorities said rescue teams, including more than 115 ambulances and several fire departments, were dispatched to the crash site.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the victims. “At present, my thoughts are with the families of the victims. May the wounded recover quickly. Rescue work is underway at the accident site, and all possible assistance is being provided to the victims,” he wrote.

The Hindustan Times reported that, according to preliminary data, a passenger train en route from Bangalore to Kolkata collided with another passenger train and derailed. Some of the cars were thrown onto neighboring railway tracks, and then a high-speed train from Kolkata to Chennai drove into them.
