(ANSA) – BRASILIA, 08 NOV – Fans of Marília Mendonca, the popular Brazilian country singer who died last Friday in a plane crash, paid tribute to her today in the cemetery of the city of Goiania where she was buried two days ago.
With banners, T-shirts with his portrait and singing some of his successes, hundreds of people, some from other states, gathered at the Parque Memorial in the capital of Goias, a state in the center-west of the country.
Mendonca was buried on Saturday in a private ceremony and from that day the pilgrimage with candles and flowers of her many admirers began.
The famous singer, just 26, died with her manager and three other people on Friday when the private plane she was traveling on crashed to the ground in the hinterland of the state of Minas Gerais (south-east).
Mendonca was considered the ‘queen of the sertanejo’, a sort of Brazilian country, the result of rural traditions, with touches of pop and romantic music.
Among the farewell messages also that of President Jair Bolsonaro, who said he was “very sad” about what happened. (HANDLE).
