In total, the United States sent more than 200 immigrants, mostly Venezuelans, to a maximum security prison, accusing them of belonging to a criminal gang
The Supreme Court of United States On Saturday (19) ordered the suspension of the expulsion of Venezuelans to a new warning, in response to emergency resources presented yesterday by an organization that denounces that Donald Trump’s government is trying to expel more immigrants to El Salvador. The American Supreme blocked the expulsion of Venezuelans detained at a Texas Immigrant Center under the 1798 foreign enemies law, which was only used in times of war.
In his order, which received two opposing votes, the Supreme Court judges commented on an appeal presented by the US Union of Civil Freedoms, which claimed that immigration authorities seem to want to restart the deportations under the 1798 foreign enemies law, which Trump invoked on March 14 to expel hundreds of Venezuelans that he accuses of the Aragua’s Tren criminal organization. The Supreme Court had issued a decision last week allowing the deportations to continue for a megaprision in El Salvador only if those who risk deportation are notified of the transfer and receive a “reasonable deadline” to appeal the decision.

The US government has reached an agreement with Salvadoren President Nayib Bukele to send US immigrants to the Terrorism Confinement Center (Cecot), a maximum security arrest accused of human rights abuse. In total, the US sent more than 200 immigrants, most of Venezuelans, to this arrest, accusing them of belonging to Tren de Aragua, a transnational criminal gang that was created in a Venezuelan prison.
