The US Supreme Court temporarily blocked the deportation of the Venezuelan group, which is held in migration centers. The court forbade the government to send these people to the final decision on this case.
It is reported by FT. This is an attempt by the administration of Donald Trump to apply the law on foreign enemies in 1798 in order to expel the likely members of the Venezuelan group “Trenu de Aragua”. This law was used by the last during the Second World War to interact with the Nonacitisms of the United States of Italian, German and Japanese origin.
The court ruled that the government had no right to deport the suspects to further instructions. Two judges – Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito – did not support this ban, but most of them made “for”.
Lawyers of the American Union for the Protection of Civil Freedoms, who represent the interests of migrants, consider the decision of the court to be critical.
“These people were inevitable in the inevitable danger of spending their lives in a terrible foreign prison and not having the opportunity to resist the court,” said Gelleront, lawyer of the American Union of the American Union for the Protection of Civil Fear, which is a leading lawyer in this case.
Last month, several suspects of participating in the gang were already deported to Salvador – despite the current ban at that time. Then the judge of the lower copy James Boasberg ordered to return the plane on which they were taken out. This decision caused a sharp reaction of Trump, who called for the impeachment of the judge.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court has already canceled the general moratorium on deportation (5 votes for ”, 4“ against ”), but the court did not consider the possibility of applying the law of the 18th century, but only the procedural aspects of the case.
This time, the court was on the side of the detainees, in fact, questioning the legality of actions to deport the government in order to clarify all the circumstances.
According to OBOZ.UA, the US presidential administration Donald Trump is developing a plan for the most mass deportation in the history of the country – weakening of at least one million migrants per year. Thus, the record of 400,000 deported per year will be exceeded during the President of Barack Obama.
Trump also announced plans to launch a new migrant program. This is such a called self -determination -for which migrants will be offered money so that they voluntarily leave the United States.
