Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky,

Last Sunday (25), the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyexpressed his concern in a post on platform X, previously known as Twitter, on the impact of silence of the United States and the international community in strengthening Russia. Zelensk pointed out that while the world can prepare for a weekend of rest, the war in his country remains without interruption, regardless of the day of the week. He warned that the lack of a firm response from the international community encourages Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue with his aggressive military actions.

Zelensk’s statement came at a critical moment, shortly after a massive attack from the Russian army. This attack involved the use of about 300 drones and 70 missiles directed to the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and 10 other cities. The consequences were devastating, resulting in the death of 12 people and leaving dozens of injuries. According to the Ukrainian government, approximately two thirds of the missiles were intercepted, and almost all drones were slaughtered. However, the images released by the Ukraine Emergency Service showed the extent of the damage caused by Russian weaponry, highlighting the severity of the situation.

This attack was not an isolated incident, but the second on consecutive nights, demonstrating a climb in Russian aggression. In the previous month, an attack in a crowded urban center resulted in the death of 53 civilians, including several children, highlighting the brutality and indiscrimination of the attacks. The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with the population living under constant threat and insecurity. Faced with this escalation of violence, Zelensk and other Ukrainian leaders have reiterated their appeals to the international community to take firm and more effective measures.
