British Foreign Minister David Lammy said they clearly told Iran that the country “could not have a nuclear weapon,” and asked him to “continue conversations with the US” regarding his nuclear activities. “It is very important that we do not see a regional escalation of this conflict,” he warned. Speaking to a group of journalists, the Iranian Minister confirmed that his country’s government also wants to privilege the diplomatic way, which he conditioned to the end of Israeli’s “aggression”. “We are ready to consider diplomacy, since the aggression ceases and the aggressor is judged,” he said.
European commitment to Israel
A written statement issued later in the European capitals involved shows that the European ministers expressed their “firm commitment to Israel’s security.” The text shows that the ministers also told Iran that both parties should avoid “taking steps that can lead to a regional climb” and asked the country to “find a negotiated solution that ensures that Iran never gets or gets nuclear weapons.”
