The permanent representative of Ukraine in the organization of the United Nations Andriy Melnik said that Russia-agent Russia should be excluded from the UN peacekeeping missions. The reason for this is crimes against children committed by Russians during the war in Ukraine.
Melnik said this on open debate in the UN Council. The diplomat referred to a report on a violation of children’s rights from the moment they are recording in Ukraine since the beginning of a full -sized war.
He noted that the number of such crimes increased by 105%. The post -deputy of Ukraine emphasized that a country that violates international humanitarian law cannot participate in initiatives to maintain peace.
“While Russian troops remain in the list of children’s violators, Russia should be removed from participation in peacekeeping missions,” Melnik said.
He also proposed to impose automatic sanctions on countries that greatly violate the rights of children during an armed conflict.
Recall that Russia systematically commits crimes against Ukrainian children. Thousands of minors were deported to the Russian Federation or deep in the occupied territories, where they are illegally held and exposed to Russian. In addition, hundreds of children were killed as a result of Russian shelling, and even wounded or psychological injuries were injured.
We also said that Russia offered to exchange stolen Ukrainian children for Russian invaders who were captured by defense forces on the battlefield or surrendered. Volodymyr Zelenskyy President emphasized that he does not understand international law.
The UN answered this cynical proposal and noted that the children were not a coin. Civilians cannot be used as an object of negotiations.
According to OBOZ.UA, as part of the initiative of President Vladimir Zelensky, he returns children, 1359 children were already returned to Ukraine. But it is important to maintain the process of reintegration after returning.
