Local administration calls for ‘security in the first place’ and the use of official routes, but does not say if the protocols were perfected
The park where Mount Rinjani is, in Indonesiareopened the climbing trail that gives access to the place this Saturday (28). In this conservation unit, on the island of Lombok, the Brazilian Juliana Marins26, died after injury during a walk near a volcano, a ride much sought by tourists. The park administration informs about the reopening of the trail after the rescue operation, without mentioning the name of the tourist Death. It also asks for “security in the first place” and the use of official routes, but does not say if the local security protocols were perfected.
In the comments of the publication on Instagram that announced the resumption of activities, the management of the park is charged on what were the measures taken to reduce the risks of the walk, considered very dangerous. Local authorities were accused of negligence throughout the period Juliana was missing-she crashed on Saturday, 21, and her body was only found on Tuesday, 24. There was criticism of the reinforcement of search teams and the use of equipment such as drones and helicopters, to locate the young woman.

Drone images captured by other tourists show that Juliana did not die immediately after falling from the trail. The coroner of the Brazilian autopsy says she died about 20 minutes after the trauma caused by the fall, but did not specify when this happened – she fell more than once while waiting for the rescue.
