The president of France, Emmanuel Macroncharged the president of IranMasoud Pezeshkian, the “return to the negotiating table to address ballistic and nuclear issues” and the resumption of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA). The claim was made on Sunday (29), during a telephone connection between the two leaders, according to the Frenchman’s publication in X. “It is essential to maintain the framework of the treaty of nuclear non -proliferation and quickly resume AIA’s work in Iran to ensure total transparency,” said Macron. He also pressured Iran for the release of two French citizens detained in Ire. Both have been arrested since 2022, accused of espionage.

The conversation also included a charge for security guarantees to citizens and properties of France in the Iranian territory. “The protection of our nationals and our facilities in Iran cannot be subject to any threat,” Macron wrote. Finally, the French appealed by regional stability, highlighting the importance of “respect for ceasefire [com Israel]to help restore peace in the region. ”He concluded the note by saying that he will continue to work in the coming days to achieve the proposed objectives.
