(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 31 – Self-isolation in the toilet of an airplane in flight. This also happens during the end of year holidays with pandemic and Omicron variant: an American woman, flying from Chicago to Iceland, feels covid-19 symptoms when she is already traveling, decides to check using a quick do-it-yourself swab – if it turns out positive, at that point the only option is to take refuge in the bathroom and isolate yourself from the rest of the travelers.
Marisa Fotieo, a Michigan teacher who was the protagonist of the episode, told her experience to the American media: “There were 150 people on that flight and my greatest fear was to infect them”, she said, while from the cubicle where she was self-isolated had also sent a video via Tik TokTik which has been viewed four million times since its release on December 21st. He also explained to CNN Fotieo that she was fully vaccinated, full booster dose, before traveling with her father and brother to Switzerland.
