Gb: Andrea’s official social profiles deleted

(ANSA) – ROME, 19 JAN – Prince Andrew’s social media accounts have been deleted. This was announced by the Guardian, as the legal battle of Queen Elizabeth’s second son continues in a lawsuit for sexual assault in the United States.

Andrea’s Twitter profile, TheDukeOfYork, now leads to a blank page. His YouTube page is no longer accessible. And the Instagram and Facebook accounts will be deleted. The official website of the monarchy, royal.uk, has also been updated in a phase in which Buckingham Palace tries to distance itself from the legal problems of the Duke of York, who will have to defend himself as a private citizen.

Andrea still appears in the ‘Members of the Royal Family’ section, but has been removed from the list of royal and military titles, of which he has been deprived. And the queen’s declaration is also online in which it was announced that Andrea would lose the ranks and all positions of representation of the family, “with the approval and agreement” of the sovereign.

Under the title ‘Supporting the Queen’, Andrew’s official duties are listed in the past tense, such as attending the trooping the color and India diamond jubilee tour on behalf of the sovereign. “An important part of the role of the Duke of York – it is written – was to support the Queen’s work as head of state”.
