(ANSA) – NEW YORK, JAN 20 – Cardi B will pay for the burial costs of the 17 victims of the fire in a building in the Bronx.
Of the people who lost their lives, eight were children.
The rapper, originally from the Bronx, will also pay for the transfer of some bodies to Gambia, a country from which several victims came. “I am extremely proud to be from the Bronx – said the artist in a statement -. I have many family and friends who still live and work there. When I heard about the fire and all the victims I felt the need to do something” .
The funeral of most of the people killed in the fire caused by a malfunctioning electric heater took place at the Islamic Cultural Center, also in the Bronx. In support of the families involved in the fire there is also a fund of over two million dollars. (HANDLE).
