(ANSA) – TEHRAN, JAN 30 – Any attempt to find an agreement in the ongoing talks in Vienna to restore the nuclear deal must include the removal of US sanctions against Iran. President Ebrahim Raisi said this last night in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emanuele Macron.
Stressing that stability and security in the area can only be achieved through intra-regional solutions rather than through “external interventions”, Raisi also called on the international community to pay attention to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
For his part, Macron stressed the need to accelerate the Vienna talks to achieve tangible progress on the agreement, reiterating his belief that a diplomatic solution is possible and imperative. “Any agreement will require clear and sufficient commitments from all sides,” added the French president.
