Usa: African American killer jogger denied guilty agreement

WASHINGTON – Welcoming the fierce opposition of the victim’s family, a judge has rejected the agreement signed on the accusation – in a trial for violation of civil rights – by two of the three white defendants sentenced to life in prison for having chased and killed in February 2020 25 / year old African American runner Ahmaud Arbery running around his neighborhood in a Georgia city. Travis McMichael and his father Gregory McMichael had first admitted killing Arbery for racial reasons, in a deal that would have allowed them to serve their sentences in federal rather than state prison. But District Judge Lisa Wood rejected the cartel after the victim’s family members objected, arguing that the cartel would make detention easier.
