8 March: Anci, in Imola ‘Women Motor’, automotive for women

‘Women Motor, automotive for women’ is the first event dedicated to the role of women in the industry and in motor sports. The event, announces Anci, will be held on 8 March in Imola at the ‘Enzo e Dino Ferrari’ international racetrack. Realized by the Municipality of Imola with various institutional partners, including Città dei Motori Anci, the Emilia Romagna Region and Motor Valley, it will see a series of panels with the presence of women protagonists, at various levels, in automotive companies. We will also talk about excellence, good practices and concrete paths towards gender equality, with testimonials on professional opportunities and the importance of promoting training for women – from upper secondary school to university – in Steam subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering , Art and Mathematics).

“For our Municipality and our racetrack, it is a source of great pride to bring to public attention a theme, that of female empowerment, which can express so much, in the automotive world in particular”, affirm the mayor Marco Panieri and the councilor with responsibility for the Elena Penazzi racetrack.

“This innovative conference, which brings together different and important experiences and values, can be a stimulus and source of inspiration for many girls and women who intend to develop Steam skills”. “On 8 March in Imola with the ‘Women Motor’ event – says Maria Terranova, ANCI national delegate for Equal Opportunities and mayor of Termini Imerese – the view on a world that for decades appeared only to men changes. For some time now, pilots and designers, workers and managers in ‘Made in Italy’ motor companies, with feminine sensitivity, ability and creativity, make a primary contribution to a driving sector for the country’s economy and image. day”. “More and more female figures are holding significant positions” in the automotive sector, recently declared Luigi Zironi, mayor of Maranello and president of the Anci Città dei Motori network, “from research on materials to technological innovation. The attention of this event to the theme of Steam subjects and training courses that allow girls to put their skills to good use in an area rich in companies and opportunities related to engines is an important signal.

As the ‘Città dei Motori’ association, which brings together the cities with a motoring vocation at a national level, we will continue to work to expand the opportunities for women to access the automotive sector, a sector in which passion and competence are fundamental resources”.
