The launch of Lamborghini’s first V12 hybrid super sports car is imminent, and the house of the bull anticipates the details relating to driving dynamics.
Specifically, together with the hybrid system, three new dedicated driving modes are also making their debut, identified, respectively, by the acronyms Recharge, Hybrid and Performance.
These are to be combined with the other driving modes called Città, Strada, Sport and Corsa, which can be selected via the two rotors of the new steering wheel.
In total, there are 13 driving experiences that underline the different characteristics and potential of the car, currently identified by the project code LB744, based on the circumstance and the type of road or track.
City is the driving mode for everyday use in city centres. In fact, the suspension, traction control and gearbox help to base dynamics on maximum comfort, and power is limited to 180 HP to reduce fuel consumption. Furthermore, to travel with zero emissions, even when the lithium-ion battery is flat and there are no columns nearby, it is possible to use the V12 to fully recharge it in a few minutes through the hybrid system mode called Recharge. The Strada mode implies a more dynamic drive, also suitable for travelling, combining comfort and sportiness, with the power unit delivering up to 886 HP and the V12 which also guarantees a constant state of battery recharging. Furthermore, the work of the front e-axle, which supports torque vectoring, and the contribution of active aerodynamics help maximize stability at high speeds. The Sport voice, on the other hand, changes the character of the LB744, offers an emotional drive, and can be combined with the three modes of the hybrid system. Aerodynamics, set-up and gearbox responsiveness favor greater promptness and increase the agility of the car, while the engine and the hybrid system express a power that can reach 907 HP.
Maximum performance, however, is obtained by selecting the Corsa mode designed for the track.
The powertrain reaches 1015 HP, the hybrid system control is calibrated to get the most out of the e-axle, for ultra-sporty yet accessible driving, while more experienced riders can deactivate the ESC and to experience the full potential of starting from a standstill through the launch control.
