Ztl Palermo suspended from the station to via Cavour

Today, after monitoring the traffic situation along the side link road of via Crispi on the sea side, following the closure of the underpass in the same direction for safety measures, despite the traffic regulation activity of the Municipal Police, the high vehicular congestion detected. The Municipality of Palermo says so. Therefore, to limit the inconvenience to the circulation of vehicles as much as possible, the Urban Mobility and Mass Public Transport service, in concert with the Mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla and the Councilor for Mobility Maurizio Carta, issued an ordinance to mitigate the negative impacts on circulation to alleviate the inconvenience of citizens. In particular, starting tomorrow, April 13, and until the end of the underpass works, the daytime Ztl will be suspended exclusively along via Roma and only in the station-via Cavour direction. “The need for works to make the underpass safe is essential – says Mayor Lagalla – and the councilor for public works Salvatore Orlando has prepared the new start of the works for the sea side roadway, guaranteeing that they will have a limited duration to minimize minimal inconvenience to users.

The administration has not limited itself only to giving the green light to the works, but also to finding alternative solutions for those who have to travel by public transport. To further reduce the impact of the closure of the underpass, I appeal to citizens, who will understand the need for a long overdue work, to make greater use of public transport and micro-mobility”. “In a vision of good governance of mobility, which always looks at all the effects and impacts of decisions – explains councilor Carta – the partial suspension of the ZTL in via Roma was promptly implemented as a mitigation measure, which will be constantly monitored to improve its effects ” .
